Featured Finds

This is definitely not your average real estate blog post lol but it is home centric—talking about home design & decor is something I truly love, so I’m going with it. And I’m so glad you’re here!

Through this new series, I’d love to share occasional round ups of my favorite home decor finds! Some items will be ones that I’ve recently purchased and others are things I’m just dreaming about buying/wishing we had the space for (read: a fun & funky short term rental here in Austin that I could decorate to my heart’s content whenever I’d like (one day I’ll have it!!!)).

SO! Rather than letting these beautiful things expire in my shopping cart, I figured why not share all of my favorite finds with you along the way! You’ll get an up close & personal look at my style and how I approach home decor, and I’ll get a creative outlet; plus the added hope that someone I know finds something they love & can use in their own home! It’s a win win IMO. So with that said…

Welcome to Featured Finds!

I’ll try and share photos of the things I purchase for my own home—just know it’ll be a crappy iPhone photo like the one below.

I’m loving these poofs in our living room! We’ll see how long they last with the daily wear & tear a team of tenacious toddlers can inflict on them, though. The further I get into motherhood, the more I realize how hard it is to have nice things! As you can tell by the links above, this round featured one of my favorite budget friendly retailers (expect more variety in future posts!). TJMaxx always has some hidden gems in the seemingly endless scrolling it takes to weed through their pages of products.

I'd like to think I'm coining a new term for my decor style—Bougie Frugie. I have high-end tastes on a thrift store budget. If you've heard it used somewhere in regards to home decor, definitely let me know and I'll stop saying it!

Either way, if pretty things at pretty prices make you happy, I’m right there with you!

But in all seriousness, defining your decor style can be kinda daunting. If we’re doing life right, we’re always changing and always growing. And with the arrival of a new “hot” trend every year, what we love could phase out just as quickly as it came around. So why would we want to claim one style over another? I’m a firm believer that you should fill your home with things that you truly love rather than following styles or trends.

If you do that, then your personal style will be the collective theme that ties everything together perfectly. And you’ll end up creating a space & home YOU love!
