Neighborhood History

Windsor Park was established and developed in the 1950s and 1960s, during a time of rapid growth in Austin. The neighborhood was originally designed to provide affordable housing for middle-class families, and many of the homes were built in the popular mid-century modern style.

Some homes have fallen into disrepair, but a majority have been maintained or recently renovated; new custom built homes are popping up here and there due to the generously sized lots throughout the neighborhood.

Residential Options

Windsor Park offers a range of housing options, from cozy bungalows to spacious ranch-style homes. Many of the homes in the neighborhood have been updated and renovated over the years, while still maintaining their original charm and character. The streets are lined with mature trees, which provide shade and beauty throughout the year.

The average price of a single-family home is $624,009 (pulled from MLS 2022 annual report - close price).

Shopping, Dining & Events

Windsor Park has a variety of shopping and dining options near by, making it easy to find everything you need close to home. The Mueller Market District is just a short drive away, and includes a variety of retailers, including H-E-B, Total Wine, PetSmart & Home Depot, as well as several local restaurants and fast food options.

In addition to the near by Mueller Market District, Windsor Park is home to Hank’s Austin. A personal favorite for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner! They serve up delicious dishes all around (and have a fabulous wine selection), but our favorite things to order over here at Casa Lewis are their burgers (half off on Mondays!), the pesto rice bowl (add salmon, please) and the turkey gruyere sandwich (with sweet potato fries)! Their coffee shop is great for quick meetups over breakfast tacos, too! Can you tell I’m a fan?!

Windsor Park is truly a fantastic neighborhood to live in with easy access to everything Austin has to offer. Whether you're looking for a cozy bungalow to renovate and make your own, or a spacious MCM or ranch-style home that’s move in ready, Windsor Park has something for everyone.
